2022 Cote Rotie, Domaine Pierre Gaillard

The nose is expressive, offering aromas of ripe black fruits such as cassis and black cherry, intertwined with floral notes of violet and subtle hints of black pepper. On the palate, it reveals a velvety texture with well-integrated tannins, delivering flavors of dark berries, olive tapenade, and a touch of earthiness.

Vinous

The 2022 Côte-Rôtie unfurls with ripe black cherry, spice box, dried meat and a flicker of licorice. Touching the palate with acceptable flavor concentration, the medium-bodied 2022 bundles vivid freshness, winding down with a bright finish. That said, I’d wish for a little more overall length and intensity.

Vinous

The fleshy 2022 Côte-Rôtie Esprit de Blonde emerges with dried meat, licorice, cedar, black cherry and black plum aromas. Medium-bodied, round and refreshing, the 2022 is an inviting, polished Côte-Rôtie that should provide ample pleasure right out of the gate. A refined finish wraps it up.
