Trade Sales Team Manager

Reporting to the Trade Director the purpose of this role is to manage individuals within the Sales Team to drive sales growth and profitability whilst upholding our culture and company values.

Role Scope:

• To develop individuals within the team through coaching to ensure their commercial and personal objectives are achieved.
• To provide structure to the individuals being managed through regular planning sessions and create a dynamic growth culture.
• Sell the portfolio and fine wine list to a range of new and existing trade accounts
• Support individuals within the team to win new business
• Assist in the development and execution of marketing activities, including producer days in trade, company tastings and new wine releases
• Grow awareness and reputation of Jeroboams portfolio across the trade and in the industry
• Ensure our offer to the trade is relevant, contributing to buying discussions on the range
• Support the Trade Director and report on sales and activity within the team

Skills / competencies:
• An effective leader who uses coaching practices to get the best from everyone.
• Effective relationship builder – team, customers, internal and external partners.
• High level commercial and analytical skills to interpret opportunity quickly and thoroughly.
• Sales skills demonstrated through process and personality
• Networking skills (trade, industry, press, customer, supplier)
• Effective communication skills (internally, customer and supplier focussed)
• Ability to positively influence (particularly internally, and often through others)
• Sound judgement
• Numerically competent with a strong focus on revenue and margin
• Experience with negotiation
• Ability to achieve targets and meet deadlines

Experience:
• Proven ability to lead others to recruit and grow customers in a business.
• A minimum of 5 years working in sales in London on-trade with a proven track record of bringing in new business as well as growing existing customers

The Jeroboams Trade division supplies wine to a broad range of trade customers including restaurants, pubs, independent wine merchants and caterers. Our retail division consists of nine Jeroboams shops in London, our Private Sales team deal with collectors and cellar management and our online presence supports all channels.
