Chateau Fombrauge

This historic 58 hectare property had been underperforming for many years before it was bought by Bernard Magrez in 1999. He has bought his inimitable style of extraction and ripeness to the estate and, in warm vintages, whilst impressive it can be overbearing for some tastes and does not necessarily age well. In lighter years, the wine is supple and fleshy, but beautifully balanced and shows better capacity to age in bottle. A small amount of good white is also made here.
