Chateau Gloria

Gloria was only created in the 1940s, with the purchase by Henri Martin of 46 hectares of land from neighbouring Cru Classés in St. Julien. Although the land all came from classed growths, it is the property that is classified in Bordeaux, not the land, so Gloria is a humble Cru Bourgeois, despite its quality being more akin to a third growth. This has meant that for years it has offered one of the best buys in the region. Made from 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% each of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, the wine has always been made in a very approachable and refined style, with ripe fruit and supple tannins.
