Costers del Priorat

Founded in 2002, the winery is named after the Costers, which are the brittle slate slopes with licorella soils that make up the historic heart of Priorat. The vineyards surround a Roman quarry in a stunning steep-sloped valley and annual production is just 10,000 cases. The grapes come from three historic vineyards: Sant Marti, Mas Alsera, and Los Solanes, with traditional varieties including Garnatxa Blanco and Rojo as well as Samsó (Cinsault or Carignan) and vines dating back to the 1930s. The Blanc de Closos is macerated on skins for 4 months in a 600-litre barrel.
