Gaja

This historic family producer came to global prominence under the stewardship of Angelo Gaja whose influence on the wines of the Langhe cannot be underestimated. Pioneering single vineyard Barbaresco bottlings, along with the planting of international varieties in top vineyards sites. Gaja’s tireless promotion, along with the superb quality, led to his wines becoming some of the most expensive, and collectable, in the world. In an area of small landholdings, they have a massive 100 hectares of vineyards and produce 18 different wines from these. Although still involved in the business, it is now run day to day by Gaia Gaja, Angelo’s daughter.
