Spottswoode

The Novak family purchased Spottswoode vineyard in the Napa valley in 1972 and began to make their own wines from it in 1982. Mark Novak was the driving force and has been followed as CEO by her daughter Beth. Organically farmed from 1985 and certified from 1992, there are just under 19 hectares, the vast majority of Cabernet Sauvignon, with a small amount of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Sauvignon Blanc. The wines have great elegance and are amongst the finest of the Napa.
