The 2018 Avvoltore is a very pretty, polished wine, perhaps a bit less opulent than it can be, but not in a bad way. The lighter style of the year allows the Sangiovese to come through nicely. Dark fruit, leather, licorice and spice build nicely, growing in persistence all the way through to the long finish. This is beautifully done.
