2018 Chianti Classico, Casaloste, Panzano, Tuscany
Rich ruby colour with a nose of black cherry and spice. Quite intense, medium bodied palate, with ripe red and black fruits balanced by fine acidity and full, ripe tannins. Very long and elegant.

The organic Casaloste 2018 Chianti Classico shows depth and generous fruit weight with blackberry, pressed cherry and wild plum. Those dark fruit tones cede to leather, tobacco and tilled earth, and the wine shows some heaviness and extra ripeness with an open-knit texture as it is given time to open in the glass. I suggest a near-term drinking window as a result. Give it a try with some charbroiled meat. This estate is owned by the Marchesi d’Orsi di Villanova.

Vinous
The 2018 Chianti Classico is a juicy, forward wine that will drink well right out of the gate. A dollop of Merlot gives the 2018 lovely mid-palate juiciness and plenty of immediacy as well. Black cherry, spice, leather and menthol linger on the open-knit finish.
