Deep ruby in the glass. The nose is sleek and polished, with ripe black cherry, plum and mulberry, alongside notes of cocoa, warm spice and a touch of graphite. The fruit is expressive but composed, with a modern edge to its aromatic clarity. The palate is supple and rounded, with fine-grained tannins and a smooth, flowing texture. Dark berry fruit carries through, framed by subtle oak and fresh acidity. There’s a gentle lift and no excess weight, giving the wine an immediate drinkability without sacrificing depth. Inside Bordeaux
A new bottle introduced in 2019 under Jacques Lurton, who has taken over from his father André. Plump fruit, plenty of impact, touch of heat on the finish, but this is enjoyable and easy to recommend. Aged in a mix of barrels and amphoras.

Vinous
The 2019 Acte II (Rouge) has a very pure nose of black cherries and light gamy notes, just a little reduced at first, so don’t be afraid to decant this. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly raw entry. There is a bit of hardness here, a slightly granular texture, and a welcome black olive/briny note on the finish, though it does need a little more finesse.
