2022 Ribbon Vale Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Moss Wood

Deep ruby with a nose of restrained power. Blue and black fruits, with hints of violets, cedar tar and spices. The palate has enormous power and persistence, yet the first impression is of elegance and grace, before finishing with full and ripe tannins.

Inside Bordeaux

From Moss Wood’s Ribbonvale Vineyard. Fresh and elegant aromas of lifted mulberry, plum and blackcurrant sit at the fore with some more subtle notes of violet, liquorice, gentle cedar and forest berries beneath. A glimmer of black tea leaf with air. A swirl of the glass only freshens and lifts the wine’s prettiness by releasing fresh violet and forrest cake notes. The palate is lithe and lifted with elegant fresh fruit appeal. Mulberry, red plum and dark cherry glide high through the mouth without the faintest sense of weightiness. Red liquorice, subtle cedar and a hint of dark chocolate play a supporting role before being anchored by firm, chalky tannins. The acidity is excellently judged, weaving through the finish adding freshness and drawing length. This is bright, plush and diaphanous. A strong release.
