2022 Moss Wood Semillon, Margaret River, Western Australia

Medium straw colour, with some green tints. The nose is ethereal, with lifted perfumes of lemon sherbet, green apples, honey suckle and figs. Underneath there is just some early suggestions of the variety's complex features like lanolin and mushroom. The palate shows fruit flavours of limes, figs and lychees and is rich, generous and mouth-filling

The 2022 Semillon is pungently grassy on the nose; rich and ample in its outlay of flavor, this shows lemongrass, green apple, nashi pear, bison grass and straw in equal measure. I often see jalapeƱo in Semillon from Margaret River, and it is here in spades. Powerful in the mouth, this is very ripe and long. I’d like to see some older bottles of this wine, as I do believe it will age well. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
