Storage

Storing wine properly is integral to ensuring its value and quality. With our professional storage solution, your wine will be kept in ideal conditions, allowing it to mature perfectly. Meticulous care and attention is paid to all aspects of storage. When your wine lands with us, it is thoroughly checked and assigned a unique number, before moving to its own location in the warehouse, where temperature and humidity are perfect, stable and monitored every 30 minutes. All stock is insured at current value. Condition reports, photography, and withdrawals of stock are available upon request at any point.

You can keep track of your cellar through our website, where incoming deliveries are shown alongside your inventory. A record of purchase price and current market value, as well as statistics on your stock, are shown at the click of a button. Our Fine Wine Team are also on hand to advise on cellar management, including drinking dates and selling your stock should you wish.

Charges

We charge £11 ex VAT per pack, per annum. A pack is defined as the size of a case our supplier has packed the wine in (for example, 6 x 75cl, or 3 x 150cl). Only complete cases can be stored and delivered.

You will receive up to two months free storage when a pack arrives into our cellar. For example, if a case arrives into storage on 14th April, you receive April and May rent free, with the chargeable storage period beginning on 1st June. Charges are then pro rata to cover the period through to 1st April.

On 1st April, a storage bill is issued to cover rent charges for the coming full year. If you instruct us to deliver any cases within 6 weeks then we will refund the charge. After this point rent is non-refundable.

Delivery

Delivery of your wine to a home address can be arranged to suit you. There is no charge for delivery to a mainland UK address (excluding Highlands and Islands) when that delivery contains a case or cases with an original purchase values of £250 inc VAT or more.

Withdrawals

When wines are withdrawn from storage, the prevailing rate of VAT and Duty are applied to the original cost of your wine, unless exported or transferred to another bonded warehouse.

The current rate of duty is:

£2.23 per 75cl bottle of still wine.

£2.86 per 75cl bottle of sparkling wine.

£2.98 per bottle of fortified wine.

UK VAT = 20% (applied after Duty)

Rates are subject to change by the UK government.

Transfers

We accept transfers of your stock from other storage providers, allowing you to consolidate your cellar. Please contact a member of our Fine Wine Team to find out more information.

Transfers to other bonded warehouses cost £15 per delivery.
