Trade

During the Covid-19 crisis, we will be operating as close to normal as possible, with added safety practices to protect staff and customers alike. The crisis has had a devastating impact on the hospitality industry, and we are offering our support to those affected. Please get in touch and we will do our upmost to help.

Jeroboams Trade can be traced back to 1934 when, under the name Laytons, it was established to provide both private customers and businesses with a range of fine wines from Europe. Starting modestly with a small outpost on Duke Street, Laytons expanded to become an import figure in the UK wine industry, amassing an impressive list of wineries for whom they acted as importer, counting Chateau Latour among them. Now, still very much part of the Group, the name Laytons is retained only for the purchasing side of our business. With the change of name to Jeroboams Trade in 2018 to reflect the relationship to Jeroboams, the side of our business dealing in retail and with private customers.

Over the course of our history we have established many key relationships with producers the world over. They play an integral role in our business by allowing us to offer exclusively wines not found anywhere else in the UK from producers whose ethos we admire and who offer outstanding, high quality products. We proudly represent many family owned producers such as Hunter’s Wines, Moss Wood, Castello dei Rampolla, Casaloste, as well as many, many others. It is what makes us who we are.

With such a long history in both trade and retail, our knowledge is extensive. We understand that quality of service is vital to establishing a successful business and look to establish long term, supportive relationships with our producers and clients alike. Training especially, is key. Whether you are a neighbourhood gastro pub, Michelin-starred restaurant, or independent wine merchant yourself, our in-depth product, producer and industry knowledge will help you flourish. Ultimately, we are here to help you.

Hide our ignorance as we will, an evening of wine soon reveals it.
